Finding out when March Break falls is harder than it ought to be. The date is public, and sitting in a PDF drawn for a printer rather than a phone.
This site puts those dates somewhere you can read them, with the original document alongside so you can check the transcription.
What is here
Ontario school boards and their calendars for 2026-2027. A board that runs separate elementary, secondary and quadmestered years has each of them, because the last day is not the same date for all three.
How the calendars get here
Every date was read off the board's own published calendar. Nothing is estimated.
Boards that file on the Ministry's standard form are read by script, straight off the table. Boards that design their own were transcribed by hand and checked against the totals printed on the same document: if the board counts seven PA days and the transcription has six, it gets read again.
Each calendar page carries the original, so you can compare the two.

- School details
- Ontario Data Catalogue, under the Open Government Licence for Ontario. Names, addresses, grade ranges and enrolment.
- EQAO results
- EQAO Open Data. Rankings are worked out here by comparing every school with published results for the same assessment.
- Report Card placings
- Quoted from the Fraser Institute's Report Card on Ontario's Schools, with the edition named on every page that uses it.
- Calendar dates
- Each board's own published calendar, linked from the board's page.
What this site is not
HeySchool.ca is independent. It is not run by, endorsed by, or affiliated with any school board, with EQAO, with the Fraser Institute, or with the Ontario Ministry of Education.
It is also not the authority on your child's school year. Boards move PA days and revise calendars after publishing them. Where a date matters, check with the school.
A test score measures one thing about a school. The figures are here because they are hard to find, not because they settle anything.
Corrections
If a date here disagrees with your school, the school is right. Tell us which board and which date and it will be fixed.
